Idle cash is not a mistake for an owner. It is a decision someone should make on purpose, every quarter.
(Background)
Kenji’s households own the business that pays them, which means their cash arrives in uneven lumps and their taxes are due four times a year. He spent eight years in a small accounting practice before becoming a planner.
For his households, the morning pass watches the operating account as well as the investment accounts. When cash sits above the owner’s set reserve for more than nine days, it drafts a move to a Treasury fund; before each estimated tax date, it drafts the reverse. Kenji signs both, and adjusts the reserve whenever the business has a good or a bad quarter.
He is both a CFP® professional and an Enrolled Agent, and works closely with Priya on households where business and personal returns affect each other.
