Nobody plans to have 41% of their net worth in one ticker. Getting out of it is a calendar, not a single trade.
(Background)
Samuel works with households whose largest holding is the company one of them works for. He spent six years in the stock plan team of a software company, so he knows what a vesting calendar looks like from the inside, blackout windows included.
For his households, the morning pass drafts sales around each vest and each trading window, sized so the household’s bracket moves as little as possible. Samuel signs the schedule, then reviews it again whenever the share price moves more than 12% in a week.
He keeps his book smaller than the team average on purpose: equity plans change often, and each change needs a conversation, not just a signature.
